Seed Bank — Shipping Policy
We offer nationwide door-to-door delivery across South Africa, using a range of trusted courier partners. Our preferred couriers are The Courier Guy, Fastway,and Skypoint, and we also use PUDO locker services for faster, more convenient deliveries.
Most seed orders are dispatched within 1–3 working days. Clone orders follow a separate process — see the Clone Vault section below.
Seeds vs. Clones
The Seed Bank ships two types of products, and each has its own shipping process:
- Seeds ship on standard rates — they're small, light, and straightforward to dispatch.
- Clones require specialised overnight shipping — see the Clone Vault Shipping section below for full details.
Seed Shipping Rates
Seeds are lightweight and ship under our standard rates in almost all cases.

Major cities include areas close to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, and East London.
Outlying areas are a fair distance from a major town or city — places like Kimberley, Piet Retief, or Paarl. Not sure which applies to you? Contact us before ordering.
Townships, farms, and plots are charged a higher rate, as these locations can be higher-risk or harder for our couriers to access — our courier partners apply a "high risk" surcharge to deliveries here, which is reflected in this rate.
Free Shipping on Seeds
Spend R1250.00 or more on seeds and shipping is free — automatically applied at checkout.
Delivery times match the standard rates above (1–3 working days to major cities, 3–5 to outlying areas, 1–5 to townships, farms, and plots).
PUDO Locker Shipping — Seeds Only
PUDO is available for seed orders. It is limited to items that fit within a single locker: maximum size 60cm x 41cm x 19cm. Clones cannot be shipped via PUDO.
Choosing your locker: You are responsible for selecting the correct locker and supplying the correct locker details at checkout. We ship to exactly the locker and details you provide. Skyline Seed Bank is not liable if your order is sent to the wrong locker due to incorrect information. Please double-check your selection before completing your order.

Clone Vault Shipping
Clones are living plants and require specialised handling. They are shipped completely separately from seed orders and cannot be combined with standard shipping options.
Preparation Time
Clone orders placed before 11 AM on business days enter our preparation phase, where each clone is carefully readied for dispatch. This process takes 14–21 days, giving every clone the time it needs to develop a strong, well-established root system before it travels.

How We Ship Clones
Because your clones are living plants, we ship overnight only — no exceptions. Each order travels in a purpose-built clone transporter fitted with low-wattage LED lights that keep the plants in their vegetative state throughout transit. Our batteries provide 72 hours of continuous operation, giving your clones a safe, stable journey regardless of transit time.
Overnight shipping ensures:
- Your clones stay properly hydrated
- The LED lights remain active throughout transit
- Your plants arrive healthy and in top condition
Everything is yours to keep — the transporter, LED lights, and batteries are included in your shipping cost and don't need to be returned. Your fee covers the transporter, LED light, batteries, secure packaging, and courier costs.
Dispatch Schedule
Due to the delicate nature of clones, we dispatch on a strict schedule:
- Clones ship Monday, Tuesday, and (when possible) Wednesday to guarantee arrival before the weekend.
- Delivery lands on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday depending on the shipping schedule.
- You (or someone on your behalf) must be available to receive the package on the day of delivery. If the courier cannot reach you, Skyline Seed Bank waives all rights to refunds on that shipment.
Lost, Stolen, or Delayed Clones
In the rare event of a stolen, missing, confiscated, or delayed clone order, we will replace it free of charge, subject to availability at the time. You will only need to cover the shipping cost of the replacement clones.
In-Store & Own Courier Collection
You're welcome to collect seed orders in person or arrange your own courier and use even uber collect.

Shipping Insurance
We pack every seed order carefully, and we cover orders up to R1000.00 in value.
For orders over R1000.00 — particularly high-value seed collections — we strongly recommend arranging insurance, as we are not responsible for loss or damage once your order has been handed to the courier.

Shipping Delays
During busy periods, dispatch may take a little longer than usual. If your order is significantly delayed, we'll reach out by email or phone to keep you informed.
